OH GOD

 OH GOD, by Jackie Lloyd

Oh God, we let you down.

You gave us life

And the greatest gift of all

You gave us procreation.

You gave us trees

And bees and water

And sky and land with so much beauty.

We let you down God.

Priests harmed young indigenous children,

A madman ran over a Muslim family.

Another man killed an indigenous woman

With a trailer hitch on a road, and because he could.

Oh, God, we let you down.

I too have fallen from divine favor

And want the death penalty back.

I want those crazed people

Put down like you would a mad dog.

Oh God, I let you down.
